AERONAUTICAL INFORMATION SERVICE
The Aeronautical Information Service Suriname insures the flow of
aeronautical information and data necessary for global ATM system,
safety regularity, economy and efficiency in an environmentally
sustainable manner. Corrupt, erroneous, late or missing aeronautical
information and aeronautical data can potentially affect the safety of
air navigation.
Responsibilities and Functions of the AIS
The AIS is responsible for the collection and dissemination of
aeronautical information and data
and shall receive, collate or assemble, edit, format, publish/store and
distribute it, concerning the entire territory of Suriname and the
airspace over the high seas encompassed by the Paramaribo Flight
Information Region in which Suriname is responsible for the provision of
air traffic services.
The service is provided in accordance with the provisions contained in
ICAO annex 15 AIS.
Aeronautical publications
The aeronautical information is provided in the form of the Integrated
Aeronautical Information Package (IAIP), consisting of the following
elements:
Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) and amendment service.
AIP Suriname is published in two (2) volumes, in loose leaf form. Volume
1 is available in English for use in international operations, Volume 2
is in Dutch for use in national operations.
Supplements to the AIP (AIP SUP).
(Notice to Airmen) NOTAM and Pre-flight Information Bulletins (PIB).
Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC)
Series A for INTL use and Series B for NTL use.
Checklists and lists of valid NOTAM.
List of aeronautical charts available
Those chart series marked with an Asterisk(*) form part of the AIP.
